| Parliament to Decide Diplomats for Three Countries |

The parliament today discussed ambassadors for three foreign countries which were brought to the agenda on president’s request for parliament consideration.
Members discussed on the nominations from president’s office, and concluded to send the names to an interim 7 member advisory committee of the parliament. The nominees for the Maldivian diplomats in foreign missions are Dr. Farahanaz Faisal of Henveiru Ameeneege to United Kingdom, Ahmed Zaki of Ah’madhee Abad, Maafannu for Malaysia and Abdul Azeez Yusuf of Maafannu Dhooni Huraa for India.
After the discussion the parliament floated its second hearing of the Dhivehi Red Crescent bill. The bill sent to the law makers club discussed on ethical issues and suggested that such organizations in the country must abide the religious tradition that do not conflict the basic Islamic fundamentals. They also considered such non-governmental organizations avoid political activities and work as independently and self autonomy. They highlighted the importance of such organization necessary to the Maldives and agreed to permit such organizations at earliest possible time.
The parliament session was today answered by the Attorney general Fathimath Dhiyaana Saeed. Answering questions raised by members of the Parliament (People’s Majlis), she emphasized the important role of Red Crescent in providing human relief and aid across the world.
