Heavy Day Light Traffic Sea Drama Left Several in Hospital

The busy traffic between Male’ and Hulhule’ with careless travelling left several injured when a ferry carrying several people including children collided with a speeding high speed boat leaving Hulhule’, the Male’ International Airport with tourists. Maldives Coast Guard says the collision cursed near the tiny island Funadhoo between Male and Hulhule’.

The three at the IGMH were being treated for serious injuries.

The Media Official from the Coast Guard said that 3 people were taken to the central IGM health facility while some unconfirmed reports say 9 more people were also taken to the private ADK health care. It was not known tourists or locals were taken immediately.

The Coast Guard Spokesman Abdulla Ali said that the ferry was travelling from Hulhumale’ to Male’.

The Ferry Operator Maldives Transport and Construction Company said the ferry and the collided speed boat was taken to Funadhoo but did not say how they transferred the people to Male’. No further details were available as usual here in the country as always they say until investigations are over nothing will be revealed.
